Berlin, May 8th, 2018. The winners of the „Deutsche Kältepreis 2018“ have been chosen: On Monday, Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister of Environment, awarded the nine awardees from six different federal states at the „Berlin Energietage“. Three companies from Bavaria were able to convince the judges with their projects - one of them is Viessmann Kühlsysteme GmbH from Hof.
The ESyCool green system which provides supermarkets with energy efficient refrigeration and heating in one system was the success project of Viessmann. The system is combining multiple innovative concepts: By using small, hermetically sealed refrigeration circuits the amount of needed refrigerant is decreasing. The necessary electricity is gained through photovoltaic systems. Moreover, ESyCool green is equipped with a storage for excessive heat and power.
The first place of the category „energy efficient cooling and air conditioning with indirect refrigeration“ has been awarded to Menerga GmbH.
The „Deutsche Kältepreis“ has been awarded already for the sixth time by the Federal Ministry for environment and nature conservation. Within the three categories, the first three winners have been endowed with a reward of 10.000, 5.000 and 2.500 Euro for their innovative and energy efficient technologies. The rewards can be used to further develop the projects and therefore contribute to climate protection.
