Coop in Halmstad Sweden first to use latest technology refrigerated multidecks

Viessmann and Coop concluded a contract this year for the delivery of refrigerated cabinets and freezers for the newly constructed store Stora Coop Halmstad in Sweden. Viessmann has delivered around 200 metres of refrigered cabinets to the store, which is the first to test the new TectoDeck MD5 multidecks. Stora Coop Halmstad manager Fredrik Pihlblad has a vision to offer Halmstad's best supermarket with the widest and least expensive range of organic products.

'As the newest store in the region, we can offer the most modern service combined with state-of-the-art technology to create a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. We've had extremely positive feedback from customers about the convenience of the store, which is in line with the way we evaluate factors when selecting our refrigerated cabinets. Energy efficiency and the use of environmentally friendly refrigerants (R744) are also extremely important to us and something we communicate to our customers,' says Mr Pihlblad, who has worked in the industry since 1993.

Coop has been named the most sustainable brand among Swedish retail grocery chains and ranks third among all companies. Sustainability, says Mr Pihlblad, is a key factor in Stora Coop Halmstad's daily work processes, which include environmentally friendly energy consumption, displays, lighting and waste management. Sustainability runs through the store's entire operations. The new store - among the five largest in the region, with a broad customer profile - is now anticipating continued growth.

'Product visibility, combined with ease and convenience for customers, has been a successful formula, and the Viessmann displays are placed in strategically important areas. And all of the cabinets have doors, which customers, personnel and the environment all appreciate,' concludes Mr Pihlblad.
